Do you need a new D20? Maybe you want to add to your Comic book collection, or you need the new rule book for your table-top RPG. Perhaps you just like to peruse collectable gaming cards or miniatures, participate in gaming tournaments, or whatever it is your geeky heart desires!
I definitely don’t have enough player manuals.
Well, because I love you my geeklings, I have attempted to compile a list of some geek friendly comic, gaming, and hobby shops, in and around Nashville. Here’s my top 5 for you:
#1: The great Escape
The Great Escape has been a staple of the Madison Geek scene for as long as I can remember. Located at 111-B Gallatin Road North in Madison, TN, The Great Escape boasts a huge collection of music, movies, comics, toys, card and tabletop games, and so much more. Though they may have some gaming aspects, The Great Escape is, to me, more the place you go for comics and figures. The amount of comics and graphic novels in this small space is staggering!
#2: The Game Keep
If it’s gaming gear you want, whether it be role-playing, card, war, board or dice: The Game Keep is this Geek Girl’s home away from home. Dungeons and Dragons, Palladium, Pathfinder, Rifts, if someones invented it, Game Keep has it! You could spend a whole day just picking out dice (I know, I’ve done it). The Game Keep is at 3952 Lebanon Pike in Hermitage, TN and well worth the trip, no matter how far! I LOVE this place!
#3: Comix City Too
If you’re into comics (isn’t everyone?), Madison boasts some of the best comic shops I’ve been to. Other than The Great Escape, check out Comix City Too. Also in Madison, at 1574 Gallatin Pike North, Comix City Too opened their doors in 2008 and is an absolutely fun, geek friendly environment. Comics, Graphic Novels, Manga, shelves and shelves of gorgeous geek ambrosia.
#4: The Next Level Games
Yet another amazing place in Madison to get your geek on is The Next Level Games. Next Level Games is best known for their giant events and tournaments. Just check out this list! Yu-gi-oh, Magic, Vangaurd, even board game tournaments; TNLG is a great place to go, show off your deck, and meet fellow geeks! The Next Level Games is located at 2064 Gallatin Pike, in Madison.
#5: Kaos Theory
5- Now, I’ve given you a lot of info on RPG and card games, but maybe you’re more into video games, and that’s okay! Do I have the place for you! Kaos Theory has you covered. 211 Robert Rose Drive in Murfreesboro has 60 total gaming consoles, twenty 42” 3D HD Smart TVs, 25ft 3D HD projector, weekly tournaments, pool and poker tables, air hockey, ping pong, internet access, pre-game launch parties, a study zone, and a lounge area. This place sounds amazing and I will definitely be checking it out for my upcoming VLOG.
